The East Lansing Cross was established by Lymen Crittenden and his colleagues at the Michigan State University in the USA. Typing is carried out on backcross progeny resulting from the cross between a highly inbred line of White Leghorn and a partially inbred line of Red Jungle Fowl. The pedigree information is detailed below.
Briefly, two full-sib F1 males resulting from the cross between a male Red Jungle Fowl and a female White Leghorn were ecah individually mated to approximately 10 White Leghorn females to produce 400 backcross progeny for segregation analysis.
